Boxing for Leigh ABC

Leigh ABC has a successful amateur boxing squad, some of whom have been boxing since the club was founded in 2001. The club is willing to take a look at anyone who expresses the wish to take part in an amateur contest, but it takes a lot of hard work and time both for the boxer and the coaches. There are different tests and stages to go through before someone is given the honour of pulling on a Leigh ABC vest, and over the years many have tried and failed to reach the required standard, while others have shown the strength of character, determination and application to go on and represent the club in competition.
Once a boxer has reached competition level the hard work continues and while some boxers have left the club because they could not handle the hard work and pressure required, for those with the desire the rewards are worth the effort, respect, high fitness levels, self confidence and in some cases ABA Championship titles. The club now also has a number of carded female boxers.
If you feel you have what it takes come and speak to the experienced coaches at the club and in a few years your name may join the 31 ABA title winners including Tony Parr, Ashley Peyton, Martin Pilkington, Jonathan Brown, Michael Connor, Tom Jones, Adam Ridge, Katie Smith and Sean Connor alongside many other boxers who have done themselves, the club and the town proud

The true means of being misled is to believe oneself finer than the others.
